Who are we?
The Cover of Night is a information security group focused on software development and research needs of the community. Generally, we work on various problems and try to develop tools and applications that address specific needs. Most of our code is developed using Python, but we also venture into the dungeons of C/C++ or Java.
Whats the backstory?
The Cover of Night name roots its background from infantry tactics and strategy, but evolves these fundamentals and applies them to technology. The Cover of Night actually derives its name from this aspect. Tactically, the night time offers the best opportunity to strike an adversary because it offers natural properties of concealment and generally, this period is when the adversary is perceived to be weakest. This tactic is commonly used in any style of warfare, thus we use it as our mantra, understanding an adversary will strike when least expected.
